The Formula GT (Reaper) prototype aircraft, designed by Jeff Ackland, was first flown in April 2001. Sharing its wing and horizontal tail design with the Radial Rocket and P85 (Wraith), the GT (Reaper) offers superb flying qualities and performance. Originally powered by a 260 HP Lycoming engine, it was designed to utilize liquid-cooled V8 engine technology. Plans are underway to update the GT (Reaper) design with the LT V8 engine used in the newest design of the P85 (Wraith). The GT (Reaper) features tandem seating and retractable gear, making it a versatile and luxurious sport aerobatic cruiser. Known for its great controllability and harmonized stick forces, it can adapt to various flying styles, from aggressive maneuvers to gentle sunset cruising. The GT's large control surfaces and trim tabs enable nearly hands-free flying, enhanced by an autopilot system.
